The Rāvi, the Chattahoochee, Lake Michigan: Tejas has known all three, but never felt like he was born from any of them. Photography is how he learned to belong in a space he wasn't from, by paying closer attention than anyone else in it. That's the curiosity he brings to a wedding. He attaches his emotions to the ones in front of him, photographing how love, joy, and change move through and transform you and the people who have shaped you. He seeks answers with openness and empathy; he is gentle with those who trust him to document their lives.

As Tejas works, he aspires to show a spectrum of feeling and hopes that families witnessing his photographs can walk away with a sense of connectedness and recognition—of their own selves and their shared love stories. Something we all, Tejas included, long for.
